Louise Jelley

Louise is an Author, Artist, and TV/Film Extra. She also has a wealth of policing experience, having served as a Police Officer for over 20 years. Today, Louise is working on her second novel having published her first, Transcending Love.

Louise has been a Support Artist on TV dramas including Doctors, Casualty, Sister Boniface, Father Brown, and D I Ray. She has donned a police uniform for The Crow Girl (yet to be released) and is regularly booked due to her former police career.

Her career in policing spanned 22 years across four decades. Louise worked in uniform and plain clothes/CID roles as a Constable and Sergeant and finished as Detective Inspector Head of Special Branch. As a Constable and Detective Sergeant, Louise was on the frontline dealing with crime and disorder in a busy city centre. As a Detective Sergeant, she investigated burglaries, robberies, and sexual offences, as well as working on murder enquiries.

Louise was Interpol Liaison and worked with Europol and Interpol regarding missing and wanted persons. As Detective Inspector, Louise ran the Force Intelligence Bureau supporting police covert activity. She also performed the role of Green Room Commander for a live crime in action/kidnaps.

As Head of Special Branch, Louise led a team responsible for terrorism related activities and worked in conjunction with the Security Services.

Martin Jelley QPM DL

Martin is currently the Commissioner for Standards for The House of Lords and his role involves the investigation of breaches of the House of Lords Code of Conduct.

His role before this was Chief Constable of Warwickshire where he led the force for six years. Martin’s background in policing is extensive, with a career in policing spanning 33 years, across five decades, working in four forces. Martin has an expansive background both in uniform and CID policing roles. As a Senior Detective, he led numerous murder and major crime investigations. Additionally, he was also an Anti-corruption and Professional Standards Head.

As a constable, Martin was an Authorised Firearms Officer (AFO). This included regular protection duties for the Royal Family at Sandringham. He went on to become a Firearms Gold Commander leading on complex firearms operations. In addition, he was an experienced Gold Public Order Commander leading operations such as the policing of the British Grand Prix, and his Force’s response to the riots in 2011.

During his service, Martin was seconded to the Department for International Development working in Malawi, where he led improving Malawi Police’s intelligence systems and procedures.

In 2016 Martin was awarded the Queens Police Medal in the New Year’s Honours.
