Police Film Advisors (PFA) is led by Louise and Martin Jelley QPM DL, both former cops, with collectively over 55 years of policing experience. Together they have a wealth of lived experience of policing, from the frontline to the strategic management side of the business. Louise as a former Head of Special Branch and Martin as a former Chief Constable bring their unique perspectives on policing across five decades in four forces from 1988 to 2021. PFA offers bespoke advice and guidance to aid your creative project. This can be script analysis, production guidance, actor coaching, or manuscript appraisal for authors.

In 2022, Louise dipped her toe in the entertainment world and became a Support Artist (TV Extra).  In the past two years, Louise has worked on many projects for both TV and Film. During this time, Louise identified gaps in the production’s knowledge relating to police procedures and how to set up scenes with Police Officers. Louise and Martin work with productions, actors, and authors. They support projects from inception, to release, ensuring authenticity, credibility, and realism. Louise and Martin will provide the best advice possible for each individual and or project ensuring that creativity and dramatic effect are not sacrificed.

Louise Jelley

As well as running PFA, Louise currently works as a TV/Film Support Artist. She is also committing time to writing her second novel. Louise started her policing career in Norfolk in 1988 as a volunteer Special Constable and joined full-time in March 1990. Her policing experience includes uniform and CID work including intelligence development. Louise’s last posting was Detective Inspector Head of Special Branch Anti Terrorism.

Martin Jelley QPM DL

Martin is currently Commissioner for Standards in The House of Lords. He joined Norfolk Constabulary in 1988 and quickly rose through the ranks covering a wide variety of roles in uniform and CID.
